I never want to burst anyone's bubble or crush their enthusiastic spirit but a successful home based business takes work and dedication just like any business would but the internet makes it easy for those willing to take advantage of the desperate. Unfortunate scenario.

Re: Why I Quit Saying No To MLM

Have read your comments with interest, are these products available inIreland?

Re: A ‘System’ Is NOT A Business

Your advice is sound. I have clicked on those emails, and backed out fast, but not after getting rolling all the way down; just to see their price… If it works for them great, but like you said-

“If you want to gamble go to a casino, at least they are up front about the odds being in the favor of the house.”

I have a simple site, where I write about my nature walks, every so often I get melancholy 'promise' I won’t do that often. Once the weather warms up, I will add green gardening..

Come by, see if you like it. Comment and I will add you on the Blogroll, for just $907.99….Just kidding. But do stop by.

The internet has been used for so much good, but like everything else, you have to look out for those who would use it for nefarious purposes. It's a good read and good advice. Thanks for sharing!

Re: To follow or not to follow, that is the question

I tried out TweetDeck it's ok for a desktop solution. I prefer HootSuite as a web application, because I spend more of my time with the browser than with the desktop applications.

I want people to follow me who are interested in what I post about. I only follow people that post on topics that I'm interested in. That's why I have multiple accounts. I think this whole idea of quantity over quality is the same thing we've gone through with creating opt in email lists and web traffic. The idea is to attract the best targeted audience, not necessarily the largest.

Thanks for the comment.

Re: To follow or not to follow, that is the question

Check out TweetDeck. I was hesitant to follow a bunch of people and the news tweets get too much after awhile. However TweetDeck lets you organize the Tweeters you follow however you want. Create a column for news, for friends, for celebs, etc. Then I started playing this game called playspymaster.com. In order to get stronger in the game you need to have more followers on Twitter. In order to get more followers you have to go follow more people. So I follow a bunch of people I don't care about reading anything they say. So I use TweetDeck on my computer and iphone to just read the people i actually am interested in following. I'm sure this isn't the solution for everyone. However, TweetDeck is a very handy free app that has many more cool features for utilizing Twitter efficiently than what I've already mentioned.

Re: Pressing Reset On Social Media – Time For Segmentation

It is a lot of work. But a farmer has to prepare the field before he can seed and have any hope of a harvest. I'm just tilling the field.

Re: Pressing Reset On Social Media – Time For Segmentation

It's turned into a little more of a project than I originally thought. I think once I'm done with it though, it will be worth the effort. The toughest part is going through my 800+ list of people I'm following under AlaskanBest.com removing those that aren't Alaska specific.

Re: Pressing Reset On Social Media – Time For Segmentation

It's exhausting and too much work. I like that idea. I have run across the same online social media "social network" issues you describe. Thanks for the link to hootsuite. Good luck with your efforts!
